Air-cooled 1600 engine, fully dressed goes 220 pounds. Two people can lift one without too much trouble.

400 lbs with crating sounds about right..
THe shipping will likely cost almost as much as the engine.
You should try to sell it locally if that is possible unless the buyer is paying the shipping costs.

should be @400 lbs.
It will have to be truck freighted as it's too heavy for greyhound.
