How does Picaridin's effectiveness compare with Deet?

For bug repellents.

Update:

Dustoff:

[P]Icaridin has been reported in the Journal of Drugs and Dermatology (Jan-Feb 2004) to be as effective as DEET without the irritation associated with DEET.

According to the WHO, [Picaridin “demonstrates excellent repellent properties comparable to, and often superior to, those of the standard DEET.”

Unlike DEET, [P]icaridin does not dissolve plastics.

Do you have any personal experience with Picaridin? I guess that is what I should have asked, as it looks like your information in your answer is either out of date or bad.

That's not your only choices. Unless you are researching this topic , go for "none of the above". I've been using one , a lotion, that contains clove oil, pennyroyal(a strong mint), citronella, and geranium. That's it . Work's great . Label is worn off, so I can't tell you what exactly it's called . There are others also available . No need to expose yourself to DEET or Picaridin.
