Could we put the whole global warming issue on the back burner for a second....?

I could give a **** less about global warming-as long as people would just admit to the fact that what we have been doing for the past 50plus years is harmful not only to the environment and wildlife, BUT TO OURSELVES! AND START DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Honestly, i want you to think about the "little" issues for a second-those of you who are so against global warming & are trying to think of every reason you can to go against going green,-Think about Cancer, think about things that cause Cancer & brain problems & asthma & infertility, & species becoming extinct, & polluted water, & the fact that we are handing our money over to terrorists so they can bomb us, & who benefits from pesticides & chemicals & patenting genetically engineered foods & seeds, & etc.

Everybodies always pointing a finger at the other side & saying WHERE are You getting your information from?!?! Unfortunately, all the people in between both extremes have given up on both of us. Ugh, it just makes me sick..

Update:

brat_084-dude-that's what the astiricks are for-they aren't little issues to me either, i'm trying to vent some steam at the ignorant people who can't deal with any of the issues.

Global Warming is a serious issue-I've been on the bandwagon for many many many years, i'm trying to get people to think "Below" this issue i spose you could say. The Smaller Picture....

http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-64A_4VQyYqgKo4ZwXTS...

just me venting some anger

Update 2:

and your right-i should have stated those who Believe or don't Believe in global warming cuz of course no one wants it to happen

    WHY or my Ugh,

Its hard to think straight where i am its 46 degrees celcius in the shade .

I have answered maybe 1000 questions on Global warming by now .

People keep asking the same things

Cant they check other questions gone before ,there are thousands ,and many thousands of answers ,why do they need to ask it again and again.?

And why cant they accept what is happening to this planet ?

Why cant they accept that we humans have caused devastating destruction all over the planet

And not just for the last 50 years ,the Sahara used to be forrests ,but you cant deforrest on the equator because you cant replant under that hot a sun.It is now growing 7 miles per year burning the edges .

The building of Spanish Armada made Spain a dessert country as the Phoenicians deforested Lebanon for their trading fleet.

Ghengas Kahn burned everything(cities ,agriculture, forrests ) and filled all the wells with sand ,turning vast teritories into desserts

Today large parts of the world are turned into deserts because of irresponsible farming, overpumping carbon Aquifers ,over grazing ,deforestation, all causing desertification.

millions of hectares are lost because of the roads systems and expading population

Only Mexico looses half a million hectares per yar in the quest for Ethanol and this is happening in Africa ,Borneo,Malasia, etc and will become much much more ,when America passes a new bill about the production of Ethanol replacing indigenous forrests wiping out all the wild life and bio diversity and replacing it with monoculture plantations that will only have plagues of insects ,which will be combatted with chemicals .

And Humans are contaminating ,the Air,Soil and Waters.

This evidence is for all to see all over the world ,

And cannot be whitewashed with claims that humanity is inocent .

Overpopulation puts pressures on all Natural resources and increases all the bad side effects of Humanity

And why dont they want to look after Nature ,it is where all the conditions that make life pleasant for us comes from ?Air ,food ,Water to grow food and to make beer with ,and most of all a bearable climate ,not to mention the absorbsion of harmfull gasses.

And why dont they want to keep the neighborhood clean so their kids dont have to play in the trash ,?

Why do they want to kill animals ?

Why is it important whose fault Global Warming it is .?

If it was Gaia who is fed up with the virus infesting her ,

If the Sun is having a stroke .?

If God (Jehova) is having a tantrum?

    If humanity caused it ?

If it is Natural regular phenomina?

    Who cares ?

What is important is that we are in the poop, and if we can do something that will make the poop less ,we should try to do it .

Why dont these negative people go to their damn Paradise ?

So that we can get on with trying to make the best of ours ?

oops ,the heat is making me irretable .

"little" issues like cancer? Tell the person with cancer its a little issue, no issue that has a baring on the world, the people or animals that live in it is little.

There has been an increase in people being diagnosed with cancer and dying from it over the last 50yrs, as well as many of the other issues that you list.

Most of these issues aren't isolated, and they all have links to each other, thats why we are now seeing more cases of cancer, brain diseases, asthmas, infertility, extinction amongst species. Its not a case of trying to treat one and putting the other to the side for the moment, cause with something like global warming and many places being in drought and not getting rain more people will die from those issues. Its something that has to be looked at as a whole. The planet warms up and the habitat of certain species is destroyed - its all linked.

Scientists are still trying to find cures for cancer and brain disease - they haven't stopped just cause something new has come up.

Global warming predictions includes huge anomalies in normal weather patterns. Longer periods of drought followed by destructive floods, freezing in places where it's not supposed to freeze while winter shows up in normally cold places in February rather than November. By taking core samples in the Polar Ice caps much history can be discerned much like boring a tree and analyzing the growth rings. Temperatures have fluctuated throughout the history of the planet. There is a direct correlation between the presence of CO2 in the atmosphere and the temperature of the earth. While natural occurring CO2 has fluctuated due to volcanoes forest fires etc. It has never before reached the levels it has today nor risen so fast and continues to rise. We don't know what all the consequences of this unnatural rise in CO2 but we do know that global temperatures will continue to rise if we don't reverse this trend. The ironic thing is that this could present a golden opportunity for enterprising people who can find positive alternatives to CO2 producing fuels.

"Think about cancer????" Oh you mean like the "cancer clusters" in the 1970s - the Union of Concerned Scientists would argue that because the rate of this or that type of rare cancer was "50% higher than average" within a given radius of a nuke plant, all nuke plants should be shut down? But then it turned out that "50% higher" meant 6 out of 500,000 instead of 4 out of 500,000 and the standard deviation was 3? There are countless of examples of this type of exaggeration and lying and although it comes from good intentions sometimes, it doesn't help your cause!

OK look, in a free society you don't have a right to limit otherwise free activity unless it causes some alleged harm - unless YOU can SHOW that it does - not just SAY that it does.

In those cases where it has been SHOWN, the government HAS acted on it - filters on smokestacks, etc....

But the burden of proof that society expects you to meet tends to grow if you're caught launching BS, because your credibility drops and people are less inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt. The case for man-made global warming is based on an inference and its proponents attempt to strengthen it by rewriting the previously universally accepted climate history to eliminate the more recent prior warm periods, in which dozens of warm and temperate weather plant and animal species wild and domesticated grew closer to the poles than they grow now and in which land and water based trade routes were traveled that are now iced over for most of all of the year.

In addition to global warming I give you the grossly exaggerated teflon bird story, the completely made up and since disproven Monsanto monarch butterfly story, the Patagonian sheep having pinkeye totally unrelated to the ozone hole, the fact that the ozone hole is actually bigger 20 years after the chemicals it was blamed on were banned....

For every acid rain there's a Monsanto butterfly, you're lucky we don't dismiss you out of hand but we do give you a full hearing because even though you people lie so much most of you do have good intentions, but please, there's a limit, and acid rain was PROVEN which means that waiting for you to PROVE rather than just ASSERT a claim harms noone and nothing.

If you're against the PATRIOT act, with the government knowing what hotel you stayed at in Vegas, how can you Libs be in favor of carbon taxes and higher income tax rates and still genuinely claim that your issue is with Big Brother?

I must agree with everything you said the ones who "scream the loudest" seem to be the ones who are adding more heat to the universe with they fast jets...and big homes that need more energy...and so on....it should start at the top the ones who have more should cut back first and become middle class or poor..then that would take care of some of the warming of the planet....but NO...they are not going to do anything but blame the rest of us who are pinching our pennies everywhere we go from the grocery store to the gas stations recycling cans and other products to cut back on trees and materials that fill our landfills...it's the little guy who is doing something about it...not the ones causing all the noise and polluting the air we breath and water we drink...etc. Look at the local utilities and what is coming out of their smokestacks?..then look at the public who breaths this stuff then has to go to the pulmonary ( lung) doctors to be treated for cancer and other illnesses...before I go on and on I again agree with you and hope some group or someone starts doing something before all of our lungs are black as coal....and we can't breath and end up as a fossil...that someone finds inside some rock....enough already i'm sick of it too....

Where are we right now? The Global Warming section. This thing is so big it's got its own section.

Cancer is not a "little" issue.

"...those of you against global warming..." I have yet to meet someone who was "for" global warming.

Watch "An Inconvenient Truth." It is filled with solid scientific evidence that you can verify yourself if you can handle the terminology.

My view is perhaps cynical, but this problem will only be solved by economic factors. The first thing to do is reduce oil consumption. The American public has proven that they have no intention of reducing personal consumption. Demand still rises even when we pay $3.50/gallon. Demand will not reduce significantly until it simply becomes too expensive for most people to frequently consume. Finally, they will be forced to find other means of transportation. The change will not be altruistic, it will be self-serving.

I hope that you are not trying to say that pollution causes cancer and all the other things that you mentioned. A lot of that stuff happens because it runs in families. A lot of bad things happen to good people who don't deserve to be ill or sick. Thier recycling habits or the enviroments pollution doesn't have anything to do with the illnesses that you mentioned. I think that it is good that you care about the enviroment. However, you come across as being a self absorbed, loud, obnoxious snob. Can you really say that you do everything that you can to protect the enviroment? Do you buy only recycable containers? Do you go as far as to check for the recycling code on the product before you buy it? Do you visit your local recycling center every time it is open? Do you avoid using hair spray and spray on deodorant? Is every single thing you buy "green"? Chances are, you are going to end up saying no to almost all of these things. And you need a reality check too. Those green products that we all see advertised, they cost a fortune for the average consumer. With gas prices being as high as they are, the cost of everything goes up. People are having a hard enough time just getting by and making ends meet without spending at least twice as much for the same thing in a green product. I don't judge people because they don't buy over priced products. As long as people are doing something to help cut down on the pollution, it is better than not doing anything at all. Don't be so quick to judge. The time that you spent venting on here, you could have been walking down your local road picking up trash. That is win/win. You get excercise and fresh air while doing your part to clean the enviroment. Remember, actions speak louder than words.

We need to find an alternative to oil whether we give a damn about global warming or not. I know people think I have to have a handful of degrees to have an opinion on anything other then what shoes to wear with my dress but if the Earth is of finite size then doesn't it stand to reason that oil which is a resource of the Earth is of finite supply? If oil is of finite supply and we use several billion gallons a year then could it be possible that we may one day run out? If we run out without an alternative might our society which is powered by oil sort of collapse? I know I need to be a a doctor of economics, math, geology, and sociology to have an opinion on these matters so just ignore me.

There is a warming going on but don't think man caused this cycle, we don't have the power. Over time it will be followed by a cooling, which in turn will be followed by yet another warming and so on. It has probably been going on for millions of years. There is nothing to panic about. The world as we know it will not end. We are not all going to perish as a result of this warming trend. Just about everything we understand to date has a pattern. This wave pattern occurs often in nature, including ocean waves, sound waves, and light waves. All of these can be graphed or illustrated with a sine wave, and as a result can then be monitored and analyzed. In the case of global temperature we just don't have enough accurate data yet to ''plot'' a pattern which would help us predict coming changes. Don't forget, the only accurate recorded data we have dates back only about 100 years, everything else is just theories and guesswork.

ok calm down your right. These are some serious problems that need dealing with and so is global warming. Our temperature here in Australia has increased greatly over the past ten years in about 60 years time it become too unbarable to live here which is sad for all of us. Global Wariming may not be an issue where you come from but it is a large issue for us and it concerns us as well as our future here in Australia.
