Income Tax and Pension payments UK England ?
Will be interesting to see how many, if any, 'sensible' answers to this one?
I have been paid a pension, net, in this tax year, 2007/8,.I have been issued PAYE code for 2007/8 but after the payment was made. Will I get the tax already deducted repaid by the pension provider or will I have to wait for a rebate from the dearly beloved tax man?

Are you saying you just get one annual pension payment? If this is the case, ring the tax office and tell them this - they will probably not have appreciated this. If you have another source of income, they can adjust that code to take this into account. Otherwise you may have to wait until the end of the tax year as HMRC cannot interfere between you and your pension provider.
If you mean the pension is paid monthly, then the new code will come into effect next month and you will get your refund.

This is presumably a private pension, not the state one. When you say you have received a pension for 2007/8 do you mean one month? If so your pension provider will have also been advised of your tax coding for the year and will correct the payment in a subsequent month.I presume that your new tax coding is higher than the one for the previous year thereby requiring your pension to either charge less or no tax this year, depending on the new code number and the actual amount of your pension.

You will need to complete a Personal Assessment form at the end of the Tax Year (i.e. after 6 April 2008).
However if additional payments will be made this year I suggest you contact the Tax Office and get your coding changed.

In Australia the Federal goverment provides a pension to the unemployed, elderly, disabled, single dad and mom and others with low earning. high quality education and wellbeing care are provided unfastened to all Australians. State governments have countless different courses which comprise housing advice, employment advice etc. minimum wages are approximately $15 for adults. we've much less poverty here luckily.
