1984 Chevy Blazer K10?
I have a 1984 Chevy Blazer K10 series with a 6.2 diesel in it.
I changed the oil, and fuel filter. I had it running, and it just shut off. It cranks over, but it will alternate cranking speeds. sometimes fast, sometimes slow. I have new batteries and a starter in it. It was a former military vehicle. Any Ideas what happend to it? Won't start no matter what.

Sounds like air in the fuel system. Did you bleed the air out of the new filter after installing it? If not, there is a black plastic bleeder screw in the top of the filter base. If you crank on it long enough, it will eventually bleed itself out and start. You could use starter fluid or WD-40 to assist it in starting, but this is not recommended because it is a very high compression engine and to much could break a rod or crank shaft. So if you do try this, go lightly. Keep a can in your truck at all times because if the glow plugs go out, a little spray could get you home. Glow plugs are the biggest problem with these military Blazers. Hope this helps : )

Im not good with diesels, but I know with any diesel car or truck they have a wait to start light or glow plug light, wait for them to go off before you start it.

Let the glow plug light shut off before you try it,
dont touch the gas (fuel) pedal.
