Do pregnancy hormones levels drop during implantation? My friend is deperately trying to have a baby?

Do pregnancy hormones that appear when the egg is initially fertilized DROP during implantation, then continue to rise once implantation is complete?

My friend is desperately trying to have a baby. She has miscarried twice this year all withing 4-5wk of conception. Her pregnancy hormones were very low last time and her doctor said that this caused the misscarriage.

She is now pregnant again, her hormone levels were healthy. Several days later they dropped, her doctor said this either means the embryo is implanting or that she is about to miscarry. She gets another test Sunday to see if the levels have risen.

She is 34, has a 12yo child (one miscarriage prior to that child)

She is deperately looking for reassurance that this maybe normal.

Have you heard of hormones dropoing during implantation before? Any info (sources would be great) appreciated

Update:

Thanks so much Wendy...thats reassuring. She is so worried right now, she doesnt want to try anymore if she loses this one.

By the way, I dont get the "last person I'd want to hear from" bit ??

    Hi Tash.

The last person you probably want to hear from.

But I have some good news for you and your friend.

Usually for implantation the hormone levels are at there peek to achieve the best result of a good take.

Hormone levels do alter when pregnancy does occur.

Estrogen and luteinzing hormone levels are extremely high at the time of maxium fertility.

So after ovulation has occured the estrogen levels drop again and progesterone levels then starting rising and peeking.

So hormones levels, and moods, are all over the place.

So yes this could be completely normal.

    Hope this helps some.

Well, why not? Just take care that you bath in your third day or later because the second day is actually the most important day due to the fact that this is the day the ovum is released and obviously if you bath in the first day your period may completely stop for the whole month or come again the following days or weeks and this is because the blood pressure is not as strong and is easily stopped. By experience I would tell you that the best day to bath is the third because the blood pressure is still somewhat strong and the ovum has already been released.
