HELP, Someone spray painted my car!?

Well I know a guy that does minor body work and painting, and that is what he does. It might take a little shine off, but you don't really have a choice anyway do you?

You would have to remove it and repaint it anyway, you might as well try this. Worse that can happen is you need to repaint that area, which can be a simple touch up.

The answer is no. White will look better than black would but all in all it won't look great, and it won't be as durable. Never ever try to polish/wax the finish of you go ahead and spray it. You might want to at the very least save a couple of hundred bucks and let Maaco do it. They use their own paint and it isn't great stuff but some of the shops have painters that can actually shoot a decent paint job. So even though the paint isn't as good as a high end auto paint it will still look better and be much more durable than something out of a rattle can.

I don't believe Lacquer Thinner will be good to use. First, it may take the enamel off along with a lot of the original paint. IF the PT is painted with a paint not compatible with the lacquer thinner it will cause the original paint to come off.

Us rubbing compound. It will take a LOT of elbow grease unless you have a buffer. Be careful that you stay on the enamel paint and not on the original PT paint. Good luck. Pops

A friend had a Corvette and we use the paint thinner, but, the sooner you do this the better it remove. When you have removed well then use a wax recommended for your finish, which today is mostly clear coat, unless a person own a Ferrari.

what you may want to try before destroying it with lacquer thinner is a clay correction. it will not harm the original paint. you can but a kit that usually comes with the standard grit clay bar, and there is a bar that is a medium cut. try it with the stardard bar first to see if it will come off... you can pick it up at most napa stores it is by martin senour. (i think the part number is 7260 for the kit) and 7262 is the medium clay bar

no need for thinner or new paint unless they sanded where they spay painted it. it should buff out. if you paint a car with out sanding the finish, the paint will come right off. it takes rubbing compound, elbow grease or a electric buffer

What do you have to lose,the car has black paint on it,anything else would be an improvement,I have tried gasoline,lacquer thinner,try a very small spot,and see what happens.Do you have comprehensive insurance.

The best thing to do is to re-paint the whole panel to avoid color mis-match and your car insurance should cover vandalizing acts like this

do not do this yourself! take it to a shop and have them fix please! you can damage and it is your fault then. your auto insurance might be able to help with the cost. depends on what kinda policy you have.

I get egged and painted every time my husband has issues with his x and their kids. my car - not his - go figure.

use a good rubbing compound and some elbow grease followed by polishing and then a good wax .. if you keep your car waxed its harder for stuff like that to stick
