DirectBuy users!?
I want to know how much it costs and if it is worth it to become a member of DirectBuy, since I got a new home that I have to furnish totally. Please tell the good and the bad experience! Thanks
I would like someone who is actually a member of DirectBuy to tell me their experience with it. The good and the bad. Thank you.

It is my understanding that DirectBuy is a rip off. I think they charge upwards of 5000 to join and then you have to pay for the things you want upfront. As an interior decorator (future designer) I think you would be better off going to a furniture store, with quality furniture and finance or pay with cash for the things that you need. You would be surprised at how many deals you can find at locally owned furniture stores. I recommend Ashley Furniture HomeStores because even though it isnt the highest most expensive quality furniture, the quality is still great. Their furniture comes in three lines, Signature, Ashley, and Millennium. The last being the most expensive and highest quality.
Because I dont know the budget you are working with, I cant really recommend what you should spend or where to go. But since you were considering DirectBuy, I'm going to assume you have a little more money to spend.
La Z Boy and Clayton Marcus would probably be the next step up for me. They are known for good solid quality furniture. A Clayton Marcus (la z boy owned line) sofa would cost between 900 - 3000 at the most. I wouldnt spend less than 1500 on a sofa.

lets see, you went into debt and purchased a new home right? now you want to go further into debt and purchase a whole bunch of new junk to place into this home? yup. nothing like starting out in life with as many bills as possible !
sorry i am ranting, i dont mean to but perhaps you should try other ways of furnishing your home that wont send you into debt any farther. second hand stores, garage sales are great places to acquire belongings. most of our house has been put together like this, the only thing new is the computer !
my living room furniture for example, it cost me 150 dollars i got a couch that reclines on each side and two large reclining chairs, 2 end tables and coffee table. ( yes they all match !)
the kitchen table and matching chairs only cost me 50 bucks !! yes i had to do refinish the table top but everyone thats sees it loves it and cant believe what i paid for it !
hope this helps you, you dont need to spend allot in order to make the house look good !
