what is the first colour in rainbow?

Not sure but now I need to go buy some skittles :)

A rainbow is in the form of a arc in an ellipse.

The uppermost colour is Red and the lowermost colour is Voilet.

If you want to know the first colour that appears then l must tell you that in rainbow, the colour apprears due to REFRACTION of light from tiny water droplets and all the colours appears simuntaneously (almost). Thus the series of colours is as follows:

1) Violet ;

2) Indigo ;

3) Blue ;

4) Green ;

5) Yellow ;

6) Orange ;

7) Red.

Thus , starting from inside, Violet is the first colour and if we start from outside its Red.

Don't mind, but you need to be specific regarding your question.

from reading above ... i guess it depends which way you start but a rainbow is visible light waves... just before red is infrared (invisible) and on the other end is ultra-violet (also invisible)...... search electromagnetic spectrum and it will show you the wave length of visible light and other things.... its wild how if you turn up the frequency of a color it would turn into a radio station channel or a cell phone frequency... same energy type... electromagnetism....which encompasses things like radio waves, light waves, microwaves, etc.... not to be confused with sound waves which requires air....

Violet

actually it is a term known as VIBGYOR which means violet, indigo,blue ,green ,yellow ,orange and red so violet is the first colour in rainbow.
