what is the difference between 1st and 2nd generation ipod nanos?

I am a best buy employee and i will tell you the differences...(they dont know what they are talking about) :)

The plating is not the only differences.

The biggest is the battery life

1st gen has 14 hours and the 2nd gen nano have 24 hours!

and the 2nd gen also has a brighter screen!

The 1st generation are the original ones with the silver metal on the back. The 2nd generation are the newer ones that are aluminum and come in various colors. I have the 2nd generation and in my opinion, I feel that it is better that the 1st one. More colors to choose from, and the back doesn't get scratched up like on the 1st generation. They're not really a different size but I think the 2nd generation is a little bit smaller than the first.

the 2nd technology iPod nano's have extra storage, extra proper utility (i've got self belief) and are a fragment smaller. the two can tutor pictures besides as music yet neither can play movies or video games - it is an entire length iPod functin basically. iPods have not got an FM tuner yet you may yet an non-compulsory extra from the Apple shop which contains a distant/tuner as element of the headphones.
