it depends on the competition they re playing, some make it obligatory others not, in friendlies I believe they aren't obligated to put their names at the back

good question, i was thinking along the lines of previous practices in international competition where only numbers were allowed... perhaps it is a friendly so putting a name of a player at the back of his shirt is optional...

I think it's because they make international changes regularly and they might not have enough sponsorship to make a new jersey, for a new player each time they have a game.
