A marriage proposal question for the ladies.?
Which would you prefer? A very romantic, well planned proposal with a small ring, or an unromantic proposal with a very big rock?
On the Regis and Kelly show, Kelly Ripa said all women would prefer and large diamond, and anyone who said otherwise was lying. Was she right?

no, i would definitely prefer the romantic version!! (but then again i don't wear much jewelry anyway) i'm attracted to creativity & thoughtfulness more than whether the guy can pick out a big jewel.
the proposal is the precursor to the wedding and to a lifetime of love. i think it should be one of the most romantic moments in both your lives. besides, the guy could always buy me a bigger ring down the road... (i.e. birthdays, valentine's day, anniversaries, etc...) hahaha but he better put some thought into that proposal moment. but maybe that's just me... my advice for guys: just be safe & aim for both the romance AND the huge rock! you can't go wrong that way!

I don't think I'll ever get married again, but either way I prefer sapphires. Kelly Ripa does not speak for all women, and a proposal unique to the couple's personalities is the best way to go. Everyone is different.

Yep. Why would you go and spend $30,000.00 on a new car that is going to last you five years (ten years tops) but won't fork it over to something that will last forever? I got my engagement ring at Burger Barn. Got a small rock, a crappy proposal and married him anyway. We had 10 good years together followed by 7 not so good.

It depends on the lifestyle of the couple involved...I think the marriage proposal in the movie "Knocked Up" was one of the most romantic, sweetest things I've ever seen...
Big diamonds are overrated.

In my opinion, Kelly was wrong! Money (or expensive jewelry) can't buy love, and any marriage should not start off that way! I don't like huge diamonds. They look awful...at least they do on my skinny little fingers.

she's right, i'd rather have a nice ring than a fantastic event. the ring you can show off to everyone. also, if you have a place that is not very fancy or anything it will be more of a surprise to her. Good luck if you plan on doing this!

I said yes without a ring at all. Depends on the girl and her beliefs. If it' love a ring is nice but it's not love

The size of the diamond doesn't matter as much as the size of the romantic person giving. it....thought I was going to say something else didn't you...
