How do you save a document onto a CD-R disk?
The document I'm trying to save onto the CD-R disk is a document from a program called 'Final Draft'. I don't know if that matters.

WINDOWS XP:
1) Close whatever program you are using to edit the document.
2) Go to where you saved the document (in My Documents, I presume).
3) Right-click on the file and click Send-To -> CD Drive
4) A little balloon will pop up that says "You now have files waiting to be written to CD ..." <- Click this balloon.
5) The CD folder will appear.
6) Select File Menu -> Write These Files to CD

First, you have to have a CD-R burner in your computer. Not all CD drives are able to burn CDs. Usually if you check the the front of the CD drive (by the tray where you insert the CD) there will be a logo that identifies whether it is a CD-ROM (Reads CDs only, does not burn), a CD-R (burns standard CD-Rs) or a CD-RW (burns standard CD-Rs, but also reusable CD-RW). DVDs also come in ROM, R and RW formats. If you have a CD-R or CD-RW, then you can burn a CD-R.
Open a My Computer window so that you can see the CD drive. Open a second window where you can see the file(s) you want to burn on to the CD. Drag the file(s) into the window that shows the CD drive. When you have them all, go to the File menu and Select "Write to CD". It will burn the files on to the CD.
Remember the CD-Rs are one time use only. As soon as you do the "burn", you can not longer change the content of that CD. You can not add more to it or delete anything off it. So be sure you have the files you want in the window before you do the "burn".

well, I recommend using CD-RW disks, they can be erased and reused. You will have to burn it by making a data cd in whatever cd burning program you have. But again, using a CD-R disk just for this file is really a waste of CD because you won't be able to use it again.
What CD burning software do you use?
