Yahoo Answers security, hacking?

I just read this - is this true? How are the hackers doing this? Whar signs should we be watching for?

''If you are using Yahoo Answers BE Careful! Hackers and Identity Thieves are using the site to Steal Your email accounts and information. Customer Service will do nothing as they rip people off for personal information, change the accounts and use them and then close them, without your knowledge or permission.''

Update:

No, its not stupid at all, thanks very much - I know about phishing and all that, I'm certainly not dim enough to give out my details. i wondered if they'd found a more technologically advanced way of hacking the site that I didn't know about?

If you make sure your computer is safe you're OK just keep an up to date firewall, anti virus, antispyware and keep windows updates on. Too many people do not secure their computers and they are the ones who get hacked. Good luck

In any community oriented website, some people are going to exploit the trust in others and ruin it for everyone.

If someone answers your question and asks you for personal information, don't respond. If they ask you to give your personal information to a website, don't do so. This is called phishing, and it's a form of identity theft.

Aside from that, it's good practice to run a modern web browser (Like Firefox 2 or Internet Explorer 7), as they automatically detect and block phishing websites.
