Be forewarned this is a long and meandering response. Knee jerk answer would be Madonna for her treatment of "American Pie". But then I heard Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" in my coffee shop the other day (if the coffee shop didn't make a practice of hiring really cute female Barristas I would have said something). This proved quite the dilemma for me. The deciding factor was Celine's song was played during the scene at the end of Titanic where Kate Winslet says "I'll never let go Jack" and with in seconds she is pushing Leo's semi-frozen corpse in to the Atlantic and abandoning him for a lifeboat. Not only did she let go but she actively ditched him(granted it saved her characters life). I really enjoyed the irony of the dialog plus watching Leo freeze and sink was rather satisfying. Considering this, I had to pick Madonna and her version of "American Pie". Cheers A.C.
