Does anyone have experience with a blind Lhasa Apso?
My dog just lost his sight. It is a hereditary thing and can't be reversed. We are both having some trouble getting used to the problem. Any experience with a newly blind dog of any breed would be helpful.

Aw. My Lhasa Apso was only blind in one eye. And the one I presently have now has trouble with her eyes too. I can try to help.
I would suggest that you constantly speak to your dog. Let him/her know that you are there for it, and maybe leave the TV on while you are gone for short periods of time. Don't move its food and water, and don't move the furniture around unless you have to. If the dog likes to be by your side most of the time, maybe you could use a leash inside. Providing that the dog works well on a leash.
Good luck, I hope things work out for you two.

I am so sorry about your dog. I have a Pug that I got from my son he when was one yr old, he is now 3 and is blind in his right eye...it's been around 3 months now. The vet said he will be just fine...he has his other eye but i have noticed he does now run and bump into things that are on his right side. It is a big adjustment for you and the dog, harder on you im sure. The dog will be just fine, be patient and call your vet for more advice. Good luck and let me know.

Blind dogs do well. Keep everything in the same place, don't move things a lot. He will amaze you at how fast he learns to function in his environment. He doesn't feel sorry for himself. He is just unsure. And he will be fine Just love him.
