Hyundai Elantra - HELP! Our window won't go back up. We've taken off the door panel, jiggled things.

And still no luck. It'll cost $400 to fix it properly through the dealership. If your idea works I'll give the first one best answer.

    2000 Hyundai Elantra Window Regulator

If it is all the windows, check the fuses. First thing is always check the simple and cheap stuff to fix. Fuses, then switches and finally the motors.

Do not misunderstand what I am about to say, but the earlier Hyundai cars are throw away cars when they break down. What that means is the junk yard is full of them. If you need a power window motor, get it from a junk yard, it will normally have a 30 day guarantee and will cost less than 50% of a new one. The newer Hyundai cars are good value cars.

    Good luck

If only one window, while holding the switch in up position, using handle of screwdriver, tap the motor and if the motor is faulty, the motor will temporally work in most chase once the door panel is off.

Visit your local salvage yard. Most yards have power window motors for reasonable cost.

Aw, man! Have you checked the gears that move the unit? Try some WD-40 on the gears & see if that does anything.
