i can't get my wedding pictures.............What should i do???

My wedding was last August, i hired a photographer and he has been missing in action. i have made a several efforts to get in contact with him, i faxed, called......i paid over two thousand dollars for his services and he has not keep up to his end of the bargain. the most i received was the proofs.... it is quiet fustrating....all i get from him is promises...i don't want the money back... i just want my memories...i heard so many horror stories of people who hire these people and they take off with their money and no pictures.. how can i prevent that from happening to me and to others who may fall prey to people like them. what can i do??? why would someone take your money and on the day take your pictures and then diappear?

you more than likely won't get your photos but...sue him for breach of contract

You need to contact the Better Business Bureau and report him. Also, send him a demand letter, certified mail, return receipt requested, and tell him he has ten days from the receipt of the letter to provide you with the photographs you have asked for and the negatives or you will be consulting an attorney. Then go to Yahoo local and write a review on the guy's business. Also, report him on www.ripoffreport.com.

And get ready to consult an attorney.

    Good luck!

In one sentence you say, "Missing in action".

Another you say, "all i get from him is promises".

So if you are in contact with him, sue the bastard in small claims court for the $2,000.00. At the hearing, amend your suit for the services you are due.

Believe me, the judge will understand considering the circumstances.

Also you could tell the idiot that you will defame his character to the point that no one will ever hire him again. This would include hanging a note in every bridal store you can think of that he defrauded you, and that he should not be hired to photograph at anyones wedding.

Post it on the internet that he is a thief. And go into detail.

See if the combination of the two doesn't wake his *** up!

The BBB is a good start. Depending on where you live your local news station may do a story. I live in East Tennessee and the local news does storys and investigate people like this that may be a scam. I would call each station and try to get help. Even your local newpaper may do an investigative story and help you out.

Have you googled the persons name? He may have a history. I would even call the local police, he may have a record or even be in jail.

    Good luck!

Report him to the consumer protection agency in your state, and the Better business bureau.

Be happy you have the proof, might be all you end up with :(

Start by contacting the Better Business Bureau. They are pretty good about getting in the faces of bad business people. (If they can locate them) Good Luck....
