Why is the Octoberfest in September instead of October?

Germans are just extra punctual that way. Also they are a little off their rocker. I mean look at Freyja!! =D

I am not sure why it's called Oktoberfest. Most of the celebrations start in late September and running into early October. Weather might be a factor.

Maybe Oktoberfest is easier to say than Septemberfest....lol

I have never actually made it there to Munich. You have one up on me.....smile

Here's an interesting read for you. Looks like it mostly has to do with the weather these days. I guess it's a little warm in October in Bavaria.
