I am not sure why it's called Oktoberfest. Most of the celebrations start in late September and running into early October. Weather might be a factor.
Maybe Oktoberfest is easier to say than Septemberfest....lol
I have never actually made it there to Munich. You have one up on me.....smile

Here's an interesting read for you. Looks like it mostly has to do with the weather these days. I guess it's a little warm in October in Bavaria.

I was born in October so thought it was the best month ever. I figured that September's celebration was in preparation for the greatest month ahead. :)
