Up until 3 weeks ago I would of said British all the way!

    But then I found House....

So now I'm equal. My two favourite comedies are House (American) and Green Wing (British), and I really can't choose between them. Sorry

    Have a nice day

Hey i'm a brit im going to have to say British comedy all the way. I mean british T.V has produced brilliant funny classics such as The Vicar of Dibley, Only fools and horses and the cult classic Father Ted. Which are still unbeatable compared to other American shows that are aired today.

Well it has to be said that the British were original in coming up with 'The Perishers', 'Monty Python', and the humour of Spike Milligan.

The best of American comedy i think came from Richard Pryor.

I love British comedies and American comedies.

I just wish I could understand the British ones better.

    LOL

Sometimes it's hard to understand what they're saying with the accents.

Well, of the two I would say British. But I really enjoy comedies with Canadians like Mike Myers, Jim Carrey, Dan Akroyd etc. Seems they have the British flair, but their proximity to the US makes them able to tailor their styles to American liking.

British comedies!!! Hands Down!!!!! well, course I'm British... but really, British comedians are at least a little cleaner than American comedians... but Americans are still funny.

I agree. The past couple of decades, American comedies were really dumbed down. I don't think my people really like to think that much when they watch tv.

I think Brit is best. The US sictoms are good but the humour is so different and there's no time to think about the joke it's so in your face. I am a fan of FRIENDS though, however that got a bit boring towards the end.

Have you noticed though Brits aren't doing so many sictoms in the last couple of years. The US have taken over! Yet again!
