Do you "star" everyone?

You make a really good point. I had a difficult upbringing so I can’t tell you when I last loved everyone as a child…I am a forgiving kind of person, I learned a long time ago to forgive and forget. I could not have survived without being able to do that. A year ago I had a conversation with a pastor (licensed minister)…he made me feel very small about a comment I made regarding how I hear the Lord talk to me… His reply literally took me to my knees. He told me I was hearing Satan talk to me… His view of my kind of love for people was “sugar coated”, that I wasn’t much of a Christian…I explained I could uphold the rules of God and still love people…he was all about hell, fire and brimstone and I’m more about the Kingdom. The first thing I did was get my Devotional Bible and asked the Lord if I was wrong...as I usually do I pray and talk with the Lord and ask for his instructions, I opened my devotional to: Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Jesus said : John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. This doesn’t dismiss us from teaching the gospels or the punishment…but I think it should be our first guide line in how we do it As a parent I found I have unconditional love for my Children… but my children have had (at times) conditional love for me … Do we approach God with conditional or unconditional love?
