I have some questions about logic of the obvious that I can't figure out?

1) how can 2 fathers and 2 sons divide three cars among thesleves with each recieving one?

2) If a doctor gave you three pills and told you to take one every half hour, how long would they last?

3) I have two U.S. coins in my hand that equal 55 cents. One is not a nickle, what are the coins?

4) Two men are playing chess. They played five games and each man won the same number of games without any ties. How is this possible?

5) Why can't a man living in St. Louis be buried in Illinois?

Hi Gg The Two fathers/sons one I know. The rest I'll consider and re-edit if I can figure them. The are only three people involved. One is a grandfather (man 1) and his son (man 2) and the grandson (man 3). Both man 1 & 2 are both fathers. Man 2 & 3 are both sons. Each one gets a car. The question implies there are four people invovled but that's not necessarily the case. For the log, well, I'm confused. Does one cut mean to cut the log all the way through? If so, wouldn't you just say 5 x 4? Cutting a five foot long log into five parts means cutting at 1,2,3 & 4 feet marks. The cut between 4 and the end would be the last. Logically that would make 20 minutes. As for American money, I'm not sure I can help. I am Australian and don't know what coins you have. If you could tell me what I have to choose from, I might be able to help you. Cheers Peps

    1. One father has one son who is the father of the other son.

    2. An hour. Take one now, 1 in 30 minutes and another in 60

    minutes.

    3. A nickel and a half-dollar

    4. They are not playing each other

    5. They don't bury live people

I am the first one to get them all right.

    1) It's a grandfather, father, and son, they each get one (the father is also a son, and the grandfather is also a father).

    2. One hour. One now, one in thirty minutes, one in an hour.

    3. I'm stumped.

    4. They were not playing each other, but other people.

    5. Because he's not dead.

Source(s): I'm so mad I didn't get that coin question! The answer makes perfect sense. Duh!

number 5 is easy anyone who is alive should not be buried because he is not dead.

number 1 is that there are only three men but they are Grandfather father and son.

The Grandfather and father are the fathers

The father and the son are the sons.

    number 2 is one and 1/2 hours/

    3 and 4 are impossible

i dont know all of them, but i know some:

    3) one coin is not a nickle, but the other one is! so you have a nickle and a 50 cent piece.

    4) two men play five games, well, maybe there's a third guy playing too. the two guys dont necessarily playing against eachother
