Why was conservative"God"Reagan praised for his June 12th 1987 speech ?
"Mr. Gorbachov.tear down this wall!"And now it is "Mr. Bush, put up this wall."?
Both walls were/are meant to keep people from getting to a better place. As a Christian nation, shouldn't we be in the business of helping people?Quit listening to those who gain mightily from hate.

Actually, there is quite a difference. In the case of the Berlin Wall, you had the German people being artificially separated by a wall--and by a totalitarian government that willingly kept the people apart, and under the thumb of their empire.
In the case of wanting a wall at our Southern borders, it is specifically to repel an alien invasion, which is detrimental to the welfare of the people. This invasion is carried out by a foreign government, and the government is acting against the will of the people by not putting up the wall.
There is quite a difference between keeping people trapped in a government against their will and putting up a wall to repel a foreign invasion. The two aren't even remotely analogous.

And it should be "Israel tear down that concrete barrier"!

United Nations and International Court of Justice

In 2004, the United Nations passed a number of resolutions and the International Court of Justice, following hearings in which Israel did not participate, issued a non-binding "advisory opinion" calling for the barrier to be removed and the Arab residents to be compensated for any damage done: "The Court finds that the construction by Israel of a wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and its associated régime are contrary to international law".[63] Israel had submitted a document stating that it did not recognize the jurisdiction of the ICJ and supporting its claim that the issue of the barrier is political and not under the authority of the ICJ.

Mr R B (is the R B for "real buffoon"? I know of no conservative whom has ever referred to Pres Ronald Reagan as a "God". The Berlin wall was erected to keep people in & under control of communist dictatorship whereas the proposed fence (it's not a wall) is to protect our nation from not only illegal aliens but also terrorists from entering. We do allow LEGAL IMMIGRATION from Mexico & many other nations as opposed to the situation in the former East Germany, where it was not & they shot people that tried to flee.

The wall Reagan was talking about was dividing a Country. The wall we want is one that protects our borders. Which we as a Free Country have every right to do. If people want a better life, let them build one in their own Country.

Because of the torture and oppression of dissidents in the old East Germany. There is a prison which is a memorial within a few miles of the Brandenburg Gate. Female dissidents were raped and made to stand in stagnant water up to their breast for 12 hours a day. Because the Stasi (East German) secret police used to persecute dissidents by injecting them with sulfur compounds to induce extreme pain and retching.
So I guess the "Conservative God" was against people who were behaving like the NAZIs right up to fall of the wall on 9th November 1989.
He was a really good man, who cared about other people.
So far as Mr. Bush is concerned, unlike East Germany, it is not about stopping people leaving, it is about people wanting to come who already have citizenship in a country far more democratic and free than places such as China.

A loud and public demand for a tyrannical Communist dictator to do the right thing and set the East German people free was courageous and long over due.
Any more questions?

The Berlin Wall had nothing in common with the idea of keeping illegals from sneaking into our country. These people are welcome here if they want to come here legally.

the current fence is to keep out illegals, but there is a legal road to citizenship.
the berlin wall kept out/in everyone - they had no other option

this is a dumb question. the berlin wall split a city, and a country, in half. it was meant to keep people IN east germany. The US border wall is not seperating a country. it is seperating the US and Mexico and it is meant to keep illegals OUT. i love how liberals like you think national security is a fascist idea. what a hilarious joke all of your beliefs are.
