38 weeks pregnant and flu symptoms. Is this early labor?
Last nite it started about 9 pm. i started getting a sore throat and small cough. I took my temp and it was slightly higher but not bad. Then I started getting the chills and shivering. I don't feel nauseas, but today I still feel the same way and still have an appetite. I have also noticed slight leaking (not sure what it is though), the past few days about 3 times a day. It's clear, a little gooey as well as having soft stool the past 2 days. OH an my back is killing me non stop but no severe contractions. Could this be early labor signs or just a virus.
Oh one last thing. I had a small white nodule pop up last nite on my labia. It is just sore to touch but not burning or anything. anyone had that before? Or just one of those weird pregnancy things.
i guess i should add i have called the doctor and they said both, one said early stages of labor and the other said a virus....but to reiterate...i don't have vomitting. I just feel crapy and wanted to hear other peoples opinions.

As your body prepares to go into labor, different hormones are released. These hormones are causing your chills and shivering,
The discharge you have is from your cervix softening, as it needs to do for the baby to be delivered.
The soft stool you are having is another sign -- as the baby drops, pressure is exerted on your bowels causing you to go more frequently. The baby dropping could also be the cause of your back pain, or the back pain could actually be Braxton Hicks contractions and you are just feeling them there.
It sounds like the delivery of your baby is getting close. Best wishes and congratulations!

Hi, I think it sounds a bit like early stages of labor, with the leaking and back pain, but the chills and shivering don't seem to fit in with that, unless as already said you've got a virus, didn't either doctor want to check you out? If your leaking turns to a browny colour that's definitely a "show" and is the start of labor. Re the nodule, could be a hair follicle or that your run down with the possible virus. Sorry I can't give a definite answer, I'm only going from my own experience. Hope it helps.

Hello, im 22 weeks with my second child. It sounds to me like both, labour and virus!! You poor thing!!! Being 38 weeks pregnant your body is under alot of strain so your bound to pick up a bug.
Your body tries to clear itself out before labour ie soft stools, but with the leaking it could be urine or amniotic fluid so im not sure which (my waters didnt break until two hours before i pushed my son out).
My best friend laboured in her back (and didnt know it was labour till she took herself to hospital) as her baby had its spine against her spine so the start of her labour was continous painful back ache. But also you back just could be giving you pain due the strain on it. Everyone goes through pregnancy and labour in a different way so my best adivce is go see your doc again or if your really worried take your self to your maternity ward so you can get some peace of mind. You do get a bit down in the dumps towards the end anyway as you get so fed up with it all but chin up!!!! Either way you will have a gorgeous baby to hold at the end so let that thought keep you smiling.

It really sounds a lot like earrly labor...but could be anything. I would make an appointment to go SEE your Dr...either way, labor or the flu, you should be seen...Never take any chances with your little-one-to-be...or YOU!!!! I know I would feel better really knowing what it is, than speculating.

It sounds more like a virus with braxton hicks contractions, though they may just be light contractions OR just another symptom of the flu.

It is not labor probly just a slight cold or it actually sounds like strep. You might want to consider seeing your doctor.
and the white thing could be a hemeroid. once again Doctor for you
