Do Semi trucks ever get pulled over for speeding???
I drive on the freeway a lot and it really pisses me off, when these damn trucks drive so fast and pass me even if i already go a bit over the limit! And then when i happen to end up behind one and can't see crap anymore because they're so big i am forced to go way over the speedlimit to get pass them... Does anybody understand what i mean? And do they get pulled over, 'cause i've never seen it!!! That's not fair, is it???
I never got pulled over either yet, but still....

We sure do get pulled over... not only for speeding, but for DOT safety checks on a regular basis. I'll bet you didn't know that the operators of these Tractor Trailers are subject to more severe penalties for such things as tailgating and speeding... and that's not all, most companies will not allow a driver to accrue more than 1 violation in a three year period before they show that driver the door ! It is tough, and as for passing us... I'd think twice about making a quick cut back in front of that big rig... Loaded they weigh as much as 80,000 lbs and not giving a truck that heavy enough space to stop could be fatal to the car and it's passengers in front !

I actually pushed a car off the road as I transitioned lanes from Left to Right ( on my 'blind side') I missed a car in my mirrors. Fortunetly, I was only doing 30-35 mph and caused scratches as the car realized I didn't see them. As a person, I almost cried because it was kids and mom. One driver mentions there's lots of bad semi and good semi-drivers. The ones who chase cars or push the car infront, the best advice is to BACK OUT of it. He/She is an asshole and will kill some one. You can't imagine the stress of dealing with cars on the same road. 100 percent of my day was watching cars to avoid hitting them (after my accident it felt like a 1000. percent). If you do let a semi- out he/she does appreciate it!

Yeah try doing 57 in a 55 in the state of California and you will get pulled over.

Yes, they get pulled over around here all the time. Then again, we have a complex underwater tunnel, bridge, and interstate system in a commonwealth state, so they tend to not play with anyone.

Yes, they do get stopped and issued tickets. They also are subject to DOT random stops for safety checks and weights per axle. Trust me, they have it pretty tough and if they are speeding, best bet is they know there is no law enforcement around, that they know of. CB radios, fuzz busters, radar detectors and such alert them long before the police see them.
they do mess up and get stopped pretty regular.

I have seen many pulled over.

yes, I have seen many truckers pulled over. It's not their fault that you want to pass them... You could slow down if they are blocking your line of sight.

Yes, they do get pulled over. As a matter of fact, I have a CDL and used to drive trucks for a living. If I'm in my regular vehicle and get pulled over they charge me more (fine) just because I have a different license.
Here's the thing: We need to segregate our highway system. In other words, use the taxdollars that truckers pay when they fuel up to build a separate system for them only.
You won't be able to drive on it. They can still drive on roads where a separate system fails to exist. Your fuel taxes still would pay for your roads.
This way having semis and povs on the same roads (which is stupid because your puny little car even if it's a tiny Hummer will be crushed by an 80,000 tractor trailer rig) is reduced. Unless you want more people to die needlessly. If that's the case I have some investment options for you.
We could start by having separate lanes for truckers. It would have to be the left hand lane in most areas (freeways) since the right hand lane is used for exits and onramps predominantely. The whole point is to separate, as much as possible, tractor trailers from POV's.
I see a 6 route Interstate system for truckers only. Boston to Miami, Chicago to Houston, Seattle to San Diego, Boston to Seattle, DC to San Francisco and Miami to San Diego.
An empty tractor trailer takes longer to stop than a loaded one because of the way the brake systems are designed. If you pull in front of a semi and can't see the entire front of the truck in your rearview mirror then you get what you deserve. You're too close and you're too dumb and they can't stop even if they wanted to. They're going to kill you and it will be your fault.
To those of you who are so stupid as to play games like braking in front of them I hope you're family enjoys your funeral because that's where you're headed. As a former truck driver I quickly learned that there are plenty of idiots in America. They own cars and they disrespect the laws of the physics and truckers because they see them as an inconvenience.
Either use some common sense and learn to live with the fact that the highways are going to be used by truckers and trucking companies to haul the goods you buy or be prepared to become more frustrated as our roadways become even more congested because the Member of Congress who you elected (or failed to vote for another option) is stealing the taxes that we all pay to build, maintain and widen roads on some silly project to study the mating habits of beetles.
The bottom line is that truckers are just trying to make a living. I know some pretty interesting people who are truck drivers. My experience out on the roads of America with them gave me an appreciation for them although some of them are idiots to.
There are college graduates, even MBA's who can't find a decent job, driving trucks. It's a tiring job with little respect and the trucking companies treat them like crap. It's not a glamorous way to earn a living but it can pay if you stick with it.
Many of them have families and bills to pay and are just trying to make it back home. If you're dumb pull out in front of one of them and kiss your shiny hiney goodbye. They simply can not stop in time. Instead of disrespecting them and frustrating yourself try learning something about improving your driving skills, steering clear from them, and maybe even smile and wave like you actually care about somebody besides yourself.

that question makes no sense.. ever see cops??
A class c lincense does not make you exempt from getting tickets for breaking the law.
