Right click on file. Click on properties. Then check box "read only".?

If I do this on pictures that I have, does this mean that people will not be able to copy my pictures if posted on the internet?

    if I can see your pictures, I can copy them. You can add code to prevent right clicking on your website, but that only makes it harder to copy the pictures.

    No, it means that Windows will make it harder for you to accidentally delete the file from your hard disk.

    For someone's computer to display the file, it must be able to copy the information in the file from the Internet. Once that is one, you can't use technology to prevent them keeping a copy. Use copyright law instead, it is more effective.
