Does any one but me wonder about all the jet contrails that are in the sky these days ? What happens to them ?

Seems to me they make their own weather, clouds ,rain ,gases etc. If they are steam them why dont they go away instead of adding to the others?

Update:

Yes i do know they are condensation, sorry my bad , but they dont seem to go away much these days, look in the western sky at night, they turn into clouds dont they ?

Update 2:

The clouds formed by jet contrails do dissipate but they do not make their own weather. What they do is to reflect sunlight away from the surface of the earth. When commercial air flights were grounded after 9-11 there was a significant rise in temperatures over north America. Jet traffic is masking the effect that greenhouse gases are having on global temperatures.

They are not steam, but condensation or water, like on a cold glass.
