Every Muslim should celebrate Ramadan by fasting , reading the Holy Qura' an and praying. After Ramadan, as a gift from Allah, he lets us celebrate Eid by eating, going to visit family members, friends. In Eid, you shouldn't fast.

There are some variations regarding the time in which Ramadan's fasting takes place for different Muslims around the world. Since the festival is linked to the lunar calendar and the new moon is not in the same state at the same time globally, it would depend on which lunar sighting that individual recognizes. Everyday during the month of Ramadan, Muslims around the world break their fast when the fourth prayer of the day, Maghrib, is due.

Ramadan is celebrated by Muslims all around the world it's not observed its a religious month,it's more meaningful than it seems as not only fasting from dawn till sunset i.e:preventing food and water ,but also preventing the mouth from saying lots of bad and mean things.and to tell us that food and drinking isn't everything in life there are other things.

    To sum up,

Ramadan message is to get closer to God by doing lots of charity, prayers and religious things.

Muslims just know the feeling its spiritual.

its like when any person whatever his religion is have their moments with gods its meaningful and spiritual.

imagine you could have it for whole month

    that is Ramadan for Muslims

after this month there is a festival where we don't fast and have cookies and have fun....u know its a festival

I don't celebrate Ramadan. I celebrate Eid Al-Fitr. However I do force myself to do Ramadan except when I'm on my disease(period). This will be my second Ramadan. I usually get real sick but I force myself to continue with Ramadan anyway.

I would just like to say Ramadan is not a celebration it is actually just a month of the year where Muslims fast for the month during the hours of sunlight. The actual celebration comes at the end of the month which is called Eid.

    I hope this helps.

Although it is not technically a celebration, I practiced the abstinence of Ramadan even before I "officially" became Muslim. The abstinence does make you feel clean and it is somewhat tough to do. Well actually, just the non-eating was tough for me. :) I don't need religion to appreciate what I have and understand what others don't have. However, I think that Ramadan is a great expression of spirituality, understanding, and submission.

    only muslims celebrate ramadan...

a lot of people dont understand fasting... its not just about not eating... its about avoiding whatever gives you pleasure.. its a time to rethink your life.. to observe your surroundings.. it makes you appreciate what God has given you.. ,makes you realize that God is the one to thank for all these blessings.. it also makes you feel what the poor are feeling... its a time when everyone is equal..

and for those who say that its not fasting when you fast until it's dark.. well... thats because God doesnt want us to suffer.. this is only meant for us to realize the blessings... not more...

Eid comes after the end of the month of ramadan.. we dont fast in Eid.. we gather as families to celebrate...

Ramadhan is a special month in Islamic calendar where all human being whether on earth or in the sky celebrates the month with full of feeling of good things.

Ramadhan is an example to show that from the sunrise until the sunset we are being teach not to do bad things within the period like fasting from taking all foods & drinks (to show how poor peoples live who cannot afford to buy foods or drinks) and not to do the bad things.

But originally, it shows that start from we born(sunrise) to the world until we die(sunset), we musn't do any bad things to other human beings and also to our life too. We should live in harmony, helping each others (rich people to help the poor people), live together with them, do not harm people and always thanks to our God.

In Arabic terms, it calls that we have to take good care of our relationships to people(hablun minannas) and relationship to our God(hablun minallah). By taking good care to these two relationships, only then we could have better living whether in the world or in the next world after we die.

    God knows everythings......
