I'm having a mirena IUD removed soon, what will this feel like? Will I bleed alot, cramping to follow.?

What are some of the experiences you ladies have had?

i have had three different IUD's inserted and removed. I had the worse pain when they were inserted. I had a little cramping after the removal but no blood. It is alot worse having it inserted then removed. But i love the IUD's and would get another if i needed one.

I didn't have Mirena--I had ParaGard (the copper, non-hormonal one), and I had it out about 2 weeks ago. They're shaped the same, so I don't know why removal would be any different. My period was about to start, so I think my cervix was slightly dilated anyway. My ob/gyn removed it during my pap smear, and it didn't hurt at all. No spotting, cramping, etc. I've heard it's very painful to have put in, but when I had mine put in two years ago, my ob/gyn at the time told me to come in during the heaviest flow day of my period so that my cervix would be dilated and insertion would be easier. Didn't have any pain then, either.

The removal is easier than the insertion. I don't remember any cramping, and possibly a little spotting. That's it. The anticipation is worse than the actual procedure!

I just had mine removed, I had no more pain then I had when they put it in, no bleeding, except for the little from them pulling it, some cramping, that went away in about an hour.
