What if male news anchors dressed as provocatively as female anchors?

For example:

1) Female anchors currently

2) what if male anchors dressed as revealing by wearing:

1) Female anchors: Moderately short skirts

2) Male anchors: Dress shorts (show those legs! Whoo-hoo!)

1) Female anchors: Plunging necklines

2) Male anchors: Forgo the tie and unbutton that collar a few buttons (revealing chest)

Why do professional women in the media have to reveal their chest area and show their legs, when their male colleagues don't?

And why in the world do the female anchors at Fox News seem (In my opinion) to be more revealing (such as knee high boots/short skirt, unbuttoned blouse)? Is that not unfair an imbalanced?

Also, a few years ago a certain female anchor on another channel, another show (I'm sure you know her) wore a pair of dress shorts as she interviewed a king. Would a male colleague have done the same?

And just why exactly is this acceptable?

Yes. I have seen many news anchors and weather girls dressed too provocatively. I recently sent an email to a local weather girl about how she was dressing in a way that is not professional; it is possible that she has received comments from other viewers because I have noticed a change in the way she dresses.

can't wrap my mind around that concept. female anchors here sit behind a desk, they could have jeans on for all l know. sometimes they venture out and have either slacks or a decent length skirt on.

Men run the news networks, and view women as sex objects. It's like how gray hair on anchormen seems dignified, but needs dyed if it's on an anchorwoman.

Here in Wichita, Kansas, the women do not wear extremely revealing clothing.

I would think it is ridiculous myself, but then I am a woman.

well....I wouldn't really want to see too many male anchors dressed provocatively. It might put me off my dinner. Now, if Shep Smith wanted to, well that would be ok.

Then the newscast would win the ratings race among the gay male demographic.
