that is from Karate Kid movie...his way of teaching him to disciplined coordinated movements with both hands.

In the Karatae Kid Movie the term "wax on" means move your hand in a circular motion to the right to block your opponent's punch whereas "wax off" means to the left.
In the DJing context it could mean what direction you "scratch" the record in, wax on -to the right and wax off - to the left.

Yes, the phrase was used in Karate Kid. It was such a popular scene that people forever remember the lines. As such, making the comment "wax on, wax off" means to "go Miyagi" (the martial arts master in the film) on their behinds. Basically, give them a good martial arts style beating.

yeah - its definitely from themovie Karate Kid when he has to learn his trade by puttin wax on and the rubbing it off for exercise
