Without light there is no darkness.

    Without sour, no sweet.

    Without God, no Devil.

    Without up, no down.

It is the contrast between the bad and the good that makes the good really appreciated.

I don't believe anything is intrinsicly good or bad. It just is. We as humans make judgements about things based on the way they affect us. 'Bad' is a human concept. It doesn't exist outside our minds. We label things as bad because we want to avoid things that can hurt us. Doing this helps keep us safe. I think this is the reason the ability to see things as bad is in us. And there are always things in this world that can hurt us. It's just the world we were born into. Animals and humans compete for limited resources. There's not enough for every species on the planet to have 4 billion of itself.

Bad isn't universal. What's bad for me, being eaten by a lion, is good for the lion, having dinner.

Some people like doing bad things because they feel bad, and doing bad things seems appropriate for a bad person.

But this is a question we all ask ourselves at some point. Especially when the bad seems overwhelming. You are doing a good thing by reaching out for answers and help when you are in pain. Keep it up.

What is someone posted a question like... why do bad things exist like stupid fragile sensitive little girls? How would you feel about that? Good and bad are relative concepts. You have made a choice to relegate these things as bad. That doesn't actually make them so, you just choose to define them as bad. Everything that exists... exists. You can't undo all of existence just because you don't like something in it.

By the way... I say this even thought I also hate illicit drugs.

    UTOPIA!

That's basically what you wanna happen. Its not possible. We need to maintain the balance of this world that's why there are bad and good things in this planet. You are only seeing the other side of the picture. Try to look on the other side also and examine what i m saying. With deep understanding and if you will analyze it with all your heart you will then find what I'm trying to say.

    One's again UTOPIA is unattainable.

if all the badness and evil in the world was gone, and only good existed; how would one be able to appericate the goodness in the world? if you had all rainbows and unicorns and gumdrop roses and no bad things, it would get pretty old pretty fast. the badness exists so we can love the better times much more.

without bad things, how would you know what good things are? No contrast, No difference! Then we would have nothing to complain about or campaign against. Boring!

Bad things exist because bad people are born.

That's like asking "Why are we here?".

    The answer is nobody knows.
