Yes.
A few years ago, I attempted suicide. And as I was losing consciousness, I realized I really didn't want to die and prayed to God to give me the strength to puke the vicodin and vodka out of my system, and to give me another chance to live.
And here I am. I still have problems, but life is a blessing and I try my best not to take mine for granted.
Edited to add: Thank you John. I am glad I am alive as well. I am hanging on as best as I can.
Good luck to you, my friend.

A lot of people take this for granted. For a long time, I did too. Things happen that make you realize life is good. Now, I know I'm lucky to be alive.

Almost every day.
I believe each of us was put here to do something, or make a difference in some way. I feel very lucky to be a tiny piece of the jigsaw puzzle of life.

Every morning that I open my eyes I feel lucky to still be alive. I have a terminal illness and I am also a diabetic which complicates everything.....so, yes, lucky? YOU BET I AM!

The older I get (almost 60), the luckier I feel. Especially today when I almost got nailed by an enormous man on a Harley who drifted over in front of me on the highway forcing me to slam on my brakes. Stupid "Wild Hog"!

Yes, several times. Especially back in my drinking DAZE. I woke up too many times wondering how I made it home. I'm thankful I never hurt or killed anybody back then.
Source(s): Bianca Nieves, I'm glad you're still around. I've felt that way myself several times. Especially during my divorce. Hang in there. - Anonymous1 decade ago
