Grandfather clock stopped chimes?

We wound clock and now the chimes have stopped. It is still running but no chimes they appear to be stuck

    Most clocks have a small lever that will unengage the chimes. Are you sure they didn't get turned off by accident?

    Try looking and see if there might be a build up of dust and grime. Place some towels under the chime area and then spray with some WD40. This might loosen up the chime mechanism.

    Google grandfather clock repair or try the yellow pages. There are guys around that do this work. I saw a truck today on the Denver freeway of a guy who does this.

    turn off the chimes and look ahead to the clock to realize the subsequent maximum staggering chime and then turn them decrease back on, in case you cant turn them off wind the clock forward or backward until you attain maximum staggering placing
