Can I get a cable that'll work from video camera to USB?

Or will I have to install a firewire card in my P.C.

If you have a digital video camera, many have the mini-USB ports on them. I know one of mine does and it makes it so easy to download off of it.

Also, you can buy a "dongle" that connects to your USB port and on the opposite end is RCA ports that you can connect digital or analog video connections to. There are a number of makers that provide various different software packages with them. I used to use one and it worked pretty decently, although the audio & video tracks needed to be separated with the software I was running at the time as they didn't synchronize perfectly.

Bottom line: You don't necessarily need firewire. Also, I think USB 2.0 is actually faster than Firewire, on a sidenote...

you can get a cable for that but usb is most definitely not faster than firewire. you will invariabley get a loss of information if you try to transfer via usb, firewire is much better and will vastly improve the quality of your transfer ie. less dropped frames and less jumpiness. if you are going to transfer to the pc i would recommend a card with firewire, you wont be dissapointed and it will be money well spent.

If you have digital output, it should have come w/ a cable for USB or Firewire. If analog output only, you can interface your videocam to PC through videocards w/ VIDEO IN capability.

    Something like these:

yes if its is a digital video camera.

the usb cables that will be attached from your camera going to your computer is included in the package along with a driver(cd) that will support and recognize your digital camera once plugged to your computer.

if its not included, then bring your digital camera into an electronic or computer shops and ask if they have an available cable for your camera. (^_^)

the answer above says it all really. I would just go into an electronic store with your camera and see what other types of connection they can offer you that will be compatible with your camera and computer!
