How do I put MS Word 2007 on my computer from another?

My brother and I both have Dell computers. His desktop has Vista Ultimate which came with the office suite. My laptop has vista basic. How do I put the office suite from his computer onto mine? Detailed directions appreciated.... I tried copying his program file but an error message says something about my oprating system not being configured for it.

You can have a corporate network with huge servers and it still wouldn’t matter. A regular installation from the CD writes hundreds of keys in the registry in places unknown. It creates hundreds of folders and puts in thousands of files in system folders and in hidden folders. A simple copy will not do the trick. If, by any luck, it does work, office will ask for the installation CD for reparation. Either way you'll still need the CD. It's simply not going to work.

What you want to do is a violation of the End User Licensing Agreement and, therefore, piracy.

Aside from that, it's a lot more complicated than just copying a few files from one machine to another.

dumb dumb. that's for one illegal. Office 2007 doesn't let you do that. there are millions of .dll files in the windows folder that go along with it. go buy another copy. it's the only thing you can do.
