Quest for points?
Is anyone else on this strange quest for points that seem to do nothing but glorify my ego?
It's weird how it can take over and you can't figure out why you do it?
I LOVE the sarcastic answers, so go for it!

It's addicting as you have cited. I am supposed to be working and organizing my office for the coming year and here I am again. I think I will not go to the nursing home unless they can offer the internet. Just put me on the portapotty and plug me in to Y/A. I wonder if I'll live long enough to get a 100,000 points, I am only averaging about 1,300 points in 6 months, but my obsession has only just come to be recognized by my conscious mind. Imagine !!!!!! I finally have the ultimate goal to live for Y/A points............woop-de-fu@* ing-do !!!! And I still have a life. I'll probably have to go out and buy a laptop now for road trips though to feed my addiction. Next my family will be sending me to Y/A points anonymous.

Yesterday I woke up, checked and had 4, you got it, 4 SWEET YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN FOR BEST ANSWER emails. So, it totally made my day, betternsexsortof. Then I got busy and didn't really get into Y/A yesterday, and you all know what that means...............Right, I woke up today and 0, f--in 0 for best answers. It's like the guy on the old TV show Twilight Zone, I gotta keep answering questions on Y/A or something terrible might happen to the world. Remember that guy, he had all kinds of contraptions moving along at very controlled speeds affecting each other and if something got off he had to fix it or there would be a great disaster in the world. Ok, so that's TMI for all of you. But I vote yes to buying a laptop for road trips, when I'm NOT driving of course. Unless Y/A could become a reciprocal voice controlled website, then we could all keep getting points as we drive to work....safer than cell phones donchathink?????? Lastly, I am now 10% best answers, I was 9% for so darn long..........I still don't know why I'm not "top contributor", other people only answer a few questions and get it, is there some way people have sex with this website to get more points or top contributor or to keep from getting blocked??? Not that I am that desperate, yet.

Well these points mean more to me then just a quest, it is more of a eye opener, when I wake up in the morning log on to Yahoo! Answers and see that a couple of my questions have been picked as best, No quest there, no journey all glory. All fame waiting for someone to comment on how brilliant I am waiting. With the waiting I would also call it a suspenseful way to talk with people.
(even though I never get picked best answer ha ha)

Mostly what I'd like to do is spread knowledge and logic throughout the world and help eliminate ignorance, stupidity and illogic. Being able to gain points while I do this is obviously a benefit, of course. :) Also, high point counts can get people to give me more respect so they would be more likely to listen to what I have to say.

Liar Liar pants on fire. Charles has 15% best answer but the one he just gave will not be one of them
Thanks for the two now pick me for the ten. I need more Best Answers to add to the ones I already have

When I say that the points are my life, I'm not kidding. I only allow myself one morsel of food (approximately the size of a raisin) or one teaspoon of water for every point I get. Since December of 2006, I have only had 512 pieces of nourishment. (You don't want to know what I have to do when I ASK a question and LOSE 5!)
Please feed the helpful!

Yahoo answers can become very addictive. It works on a system of rewarding the users similar to many MMORPG's.

I'm with you. I love the points. I praise the points. It is becoming an obsession. :)
