5.0 litre mercruiser?

I'm looking at a 24' walkaround with this motor. How do they perform? Enough power? Fuel economy?

The 5.0 liter produces 220 HP - depending on the weight of the boat (a 24' Grady weighs more then a 24' Trophy) will determine the performance. I might consider this a little underpowered, but you should still be able to do 40mph with this engine on just about any 24WA - I would consider moving to the 5.7 or the 5.0 Injected - if I was buying it

The 5.0 mercruiser is not enought for a 24'. Unless you want to do nothing but pontooning then its ok.

Its hard to say with the limited details. I have a 19.5' cruiser with a mercruiser 3.0. With a 14x21 prop, I top out at around 35mph and I get 4 miles per gallon. You're probably going to get it around 35mph and 3 miles per gallon.
