try this cut potato's into big chunks put into a big sheet of foil add butter, salt, pepper, a small chopped green pepper, a small chopped onion and a little garlic powder. seal good and put either on grill or directly in coals for about 25 to 35 minutes check to see when tender. for something sweet cut the top off of an apple core the insides out leaving the apple whole and some of the bottom on place on foil sheet add butter and a few Carmel's into the hole add a little cinnamon wrap tight and place on grill about 35 minutes

Sounds like you got the meals prepared. I was going to suggest what I called hobo stew.
OK, snacks: Good ones are trail mixes or beef jerky. Of course, if possible, you have to get the items to make smores! Another idea is cheese and crackers.
Hobo stew is made by placing hamburger or other chopped up or cubed beef, seasonings, potato's, vegetables or whatever else is available to you. Place and wrap in foil and place on the fire to cook. It's usually pretty good.

-crackers (ritz, animal, or grahm)
-apples, peaches, watermelon, or any fruit that's in season. Just pack a wet napkin with it so you can clean off sticky fingers.
-chips
-cereal (plain honey nut cheerios are good)
-fruit snacks
-peanuts or any nut
-any candy (my fave is twizzlers)
-And if you guys like potatoes, it's really easy to wrap them in foil and put them in the fire for like 20 mins. They come out good. Eat plain or w/ cheese :)
Have fun camping!

You could try and see how soldiers feel and eat an MRE(Meal Ready to Eat). If not a good snack would be those little beans and weenie cans. Smores are the best though.

When we go camping I like to take things that I can make at home and take. Like puppychow, melt 12oz choc. chip with 1c. peanut butter and 1 stick butter. pour in 12oz box of crispex cereal (rice chex what ever) stir well. pour all into a grocery bag and sprinkle in a cup or 2 or powdered sugar twist the top and shake bag well, to coat each piece. put in zip lock bags and take. mix in pretzels etc. if you like.
