What makes a successfull RESTAURANT?

When you decide to eat out, then your mind point you to one particular restaurant, and your mind categorize it as your favorite one...

Could you share, what 'excites' you about your favorite restaurant?

What makes you want to go back there? Is there anything else besides the good food, and good service? what? why?

If possible, please explain in some detail.. especially when you mention about 'experience' or 'atmosphere', please share some details. thank you!

i think that the curb-appeal and the exterior facade is key to a restaurant....you want to attract people :) places that look amazing from the outside make me want to go inside.

also the name is so incredibly important! you must realize that people will be walking by + driving by and glancing at the name of the restaurant....again this has to be attractive and enticing...you want something modern enough to avoid being clichee and original enough to attract clientelle

i'd love to see a restaurant with a varying menu...one that has it's patrons in mind. selecting seasonal produce that will really jazz up the carte...also think about PRESENTATION of the food....perhaps you could guide your chef into your particular aesthetic

in regards to atmosphere KEEP IT LIGHT BRIGHT AND AIRY!!! don't cram a thousand people in a place that's built for a couple dozen...i've been to "cozy" restaurants that are always LOUD + ANNOYING yet people keep returning...also i've been to places too much like "Holister" dark + dingy = not yummy.

not knowing your particular style...whether you want to be modern or throwback or even ethnic...present your buisness in a polished manner one that will impress and make jaws dropped!

    best of luck

I think 'Choice' is the most important thing a restaurant can offer.

There is nothing worse than going to a restaurant that has the standard 1 chicken dish, 1 beef dish, 1 vegtarian dish ...

That way you can turn up the restaurant for any occaision and in different moods and still find something that will blow your tastebuds.

A restaurant also has to be accesible. It's great to be able to catch public transport to go out for dinner ( no drink driving then ), and for those who choose to drive, somewhere to park thats not too cramped.

A restaurant should also be accepting to people bringing their own drinks e.g. wine, beer. Once again it's a choice thing. Not everyone wants to drink what the restaurant considers good beverages.

When it comes to seating at a restaurant, I don't having tables too close together. There is nothing worse than being seated so close to the next table that they can hear everything you say, vice versa. If you were wanting a romantic night out, this could kill the whole thing.

Then all you need to do is the basics well. Good quality food, freindly service, and if you want repeat customers and for them to tell their friends, good prices.

There is no point making the best restaurant if people can't afford to come.

These are the things I look for in a restaurant. I hope this answers your question and that it was of some help.

The most important feature to a foodie is the food. I can let it slide a little on the presentation and the atmosphere can be less than perfect if the food is on the money. It doesnt have to be weird combinations but I love to order food that I wouldn't prepare at home. I want to eat delicious fresh foods that taste like skilled chefs have worked hard to make.

Other than that--- I love a calm relaxing atmosphere without loud music. Clean tables and cutlery are also important.
