Does anybody have a great tasting, easy recipe I can make with my kids?

I have a 5 and a 10 year old and we love to cook together. I of course do all the chopping etc...but they made breakfast for their mom on mother's day! We love ethnic food and casseroles:)

There are these things called Snails:

They are a fun tasty desert or snack,

[ although not very filling, and DEFINITELY not real snails ]

    You need:

    Bread

    Butter (melted)

    a sugar/cinnamon 50/50 mix.

    Vanilla Frosting.

1] take The Bread, And flatten it with a rolling pin (a soup can works also, if you don't have a pin. )

2] Cut off the crust of the bread

3] Cover ONE side of the bread in The Vanilla Frosting, not glopped on, but not spread thinly.

4] Roll the bread into a cylinder, so if you look at the side, it might look sort of like a cinnamon roll.

5] take melted butter and light brush the roll with it.

6] roll the buttered 'snail' in the sugar/cinnamon mixture

7] take the rolled up 'snail' and cut it into 3/4-1 inch pieces.

8] lie the pieces flat onto a cookie sheet

9] throw in oven, set on 350, for UP TO two minutes

*this is just to heat them up, you could also microwave them for about 30 seconds*

Here's a good children's recipe for a pineapple and orange granita. It's a good summer drink and it's pretty fun and easy to make.

    Pineapple Orange Granita

    1 Cup Pineapple, Chopped

    1/4 Cup Orange Juice

    1 1/2 Cups Ice

Puree pineapple and orange juice in a blender. Add ice and blend until smooth. Use immediately or store in the freezer. For later use, remove from freezer and let thaw until soft enough to break up with a fork. Serves one.

We love casseroles too, but try this....

    This is a good one....

    My daughter (10) & I love it.

Flour tortillas, pizza sauce, cheese, pepperoni. Place sauce, cheese & pepperoni onto the entire tortilla.

Roll them up like a burrito. Place, seam side down on a baking sheet and brush with oil or butter. Sprinkle parmesan cheese over them and bake about 15 - 20 mins.
