What would be a good novel to read over the summer?

I have to read Of Mice and Men for school which won't be too long. I'm working on Ulysses by James Joyce but I'm not too sure I'm going to be able to grasp it fully. What are some suggestions for novels that would be good to read?

    maybe a Harry Potter book would be nice.... I'm reading H.P. ad the Order of Phoenix right now.

    Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

    I like John Grisham's books. The Client is a good one to start with.

    might i suggest People of Darkness, by Tony hillerman. It may be slow at first, but it gets realkly good, and i h8 reading. really good.
