My left click button on my built in mouse on my laptop doesn't click?

I have a laptop with a built in mouse pad and mouse buttons. The left click button has stopped making that satisfying 'click' noise so that I know I actually clicked. When I do 'click' it, it normally works on the screen but it doesn't feel like it used to and make the 'click' sound. I have to push harder on it to work and double clicking is now a pain.

How do I fix it?

Update:

The button still works. It just feels like it is stuck in the pushed down position. I want to feel like I acutally pushed down the button when I click on it.. you know.. so it makes that 'click' noise.

You need to go into your control panel. That's usually the problem. Make sure that your right-click hasn't been disabled. My friend had this happen to her once, and I know, it is a pain.
