I was at a store and the clerk instead of saying have a good day said have a Blessed Day, what do you think?

I am 51, this was the first time it happened at a Walmart store and I felt good about it, would you?

I think there is no more true meaning in someone saying have a blessed day versus saying have a nice day. Its the same as asking someone "how are you?" I really don't like it when people take an insincere phrase and personalize it. For example, a person I see on a regular basis would respond to the question "how are you?" with: I am blessed by the best. So, after about the fourth time I just started greeting her with " HI". What would make me feel good is if a clerk looked me straight in the eye and said "Thank You".

  • I guess it all depends on your religious standpoint. Being raised in a religious environment I would have been ok with it. But recently I have soured on the religion side of things and if it happened today I would have been a little annoyed.

In the workplace it is probably a good idea to keep religion out. Have a nice day is much better to keep from offending anyone accidentally...

I agree with ravenhon. A kind-hearted gesture is a good thing! Why can't people put aside their "religious preferences" just for a minute to be civil? People are so into their own beliefs that they become like a wall blocking out even the good will of "nonbelievers."

I would be thankful. Some would be annoyed because it's just a tad bit religious, but it's not as if it's poking fun at your religion, or trying to get you to convert, it's just about hoping that you have a good day. I think it was really nice of them.

Nothing is better than having a blessed day. You are in luck! I would feel like a million dollars if that happened to me. =)

i think that it is a good-customer service gesture....if u from the south then that's is common...because we are nice, show courtesy towards our customers...we are not RUDE and SNOBBY and just maybe someone needs that blessing....SO WHETHER U LIKE IT OR NOT...GOD IS BLESSING U EVERYDAY WHETHER U CAN TELL IT OR NOT....BUT U SHOULD NO WHEN U WAKE UP EVERY MORNING....NOW THAT'S A BLESSING....

I say a wish of good will is still a wish of good will. The exact words used are NOT important. If someone says to me, "God Bless!" That's fine with me. (I'm an Atheist.) I will gladly take the good wishes!!!

When someone says something like that to you, they are meaning, "Good wishes to you!" Take it that way!

i believe that it is a bit of an unprofessional remark.. but i can't say that i don't like hearing it..

when people have said that to me.. its made me smile.. but at the same time i wouldn't be able to say it to someone else for fear of how they may react...

i think that if it is heartfelt remark, even if its not something I would say.. i'd be flattered that someone would say it to me:)
