There is so much to do in and around Benalmadena. For starters in Arroyo, which is in the middle of Benalmadena Costa and Benalmadena Pueblo, you have Tivoli World with it's rides and professional shows. Next to it you have the cable car to the top of the mountains. Don't miss this and go on a clear day, as the views are spectacular. Once up there you will see a fantastic selection of birds of prey, including vultures, condors and eagles. If you check before you go you can time your trip to coincide with a horse riding display, at the mountain top. Also in Arroyo there is an ice skating rink and weekly market on a Friday. Coming down towards the seafront you have the best park you will have seen, with a huge fountain, lake, animals running free and others including goats, deer, emu etc. in runs. There is also in the same park dolphin and sea lion shows and a smaller market on Wednesdays. Once on the seafront you have a beautiful promenade to walk from the Castil Bil Bil to the Marina, which has by some been described as the best in Europe. There is a Sea-Life Centre here, loads of restaurants, shops, beautiful boats to view and have trips on and you can feed the thousands of fish that jump out of the water to be fed. I see you have a love of horses. On Wednesday there is a horse show not to be missed in Torremolinos. Catch the train from Arroyo to Torremolinos (very cheap and only a couple of stations) and once there get on a free bus to the display. You can of course go by bus or taxi, once again they are very cheap. There are too many trips to mention but my favourite is to the lakes, up in the mountains, at El Chorro. At night there is 24 hour square for the young clubbers, karaoke bars and plenty with live entertainment. My favourite is El Elefante, but there are many other live venues including Bonanza Bar, Busbys(on the main coast road) and Bunny's ( great drag acts). I've got wait till Sept., but have been twice already this year. For more info. go to the Benalmadena website and click on to "Benalmadena and Arroyo de la Miel Holiday guide and forum" for a great informative website. Have a great time.

Benalmadena Coasta is the coastline of the area. Here you will find activities to suit all tastes and ages. The Puerto Marina, which has twice won the prestigious 'Best Marina In The World' award, an absolutely beautiful site, by day and night. The Marina holds a wealth of shops, restaurants, bars, boutiques and a sea life centre.

Anywhere in zone 1 or 2 will be convenient for all the attractions in London really - should take max 30 minutes to travel on the tube or by bus! Obviously the best convenient places to stay are in Picadilly Circus, Leicester Square, or Covent Garden, but also very expensive. I would suggest Hammersmith as a place well connected to zone 1 by public transport, as well as Stratford, if you are looking to save some money.

you dont say what age group you are in but if you are a family or the mature age group then its great, if its a few teenagers going alone you wont really like it, benalmadena and surrounding areas are fantastic and a bit upmarket, for young people you have a bit more entertainment in torremolinos, peurto banus is great to see, there is a train that takes you along the coast.

Just returned from there, I would recommend a boat trip, a fullday with a BBQ. the marina is really cool and could spend hours feding the fish. Maybe take a trip to Gibraltar its not far.
