it could be but about hitting your wife or whatever there are others laws that will not allow that to happen. same with the haircutting thing it might still be in the law books but not inforced or other laws take over that law.
you might need a license to do a mouse trap down. but that might be a law that is not really inforced but there.
Get this law in SC, Conway you are allowed to hit your wife on the court house steps every other month on sunday. But of course there are other laws that take over that one but it is still in the law books they just did not take it out.
