why did my pet die??
HELP!! i woke up this morning and found 1 of my hermit crabs dead i picked it up and found that its stomach had been eaten and i see his spine. when i picked it up, i see his head dangling from the neck, ....how did this happen? i also have 2 other hermit crabs can they be affected my this too??

you might not be feeding your hermit crabs enough or one hermit crab ate all the food and the other two ate part of that hermit crab and its food because they were hungry.. observe your crabs while they are eating because you should make sure they are both getting enough food

If your hermit crabs are in the same tank then it is very likely though horrible that one or both of the other crabs attacked him. It could have happened for more than one reason. There could have been a fight, lack of food, or a dominance disagreement. It is most likely though that one of them attacked the other one and won. Sorry about the crab though.

maybe the other 1 hermit crabs 8 this 1 because u forgot to feed them or something

maybe he was a jerk to your other hermit crabs and htey beat him up! jk. itsnot to smart to leave any animals alone together without decent food because they will eat each other like hamsters and cats!

I keep them in my fish tank and I've seen them kill trying to steal anothers shell.I' ve never seen them fight over food. of course i have a different species and I have over 100 of them.
