You might see if Adobe has a trial version of Adobe AfterEffects and Adobe Premiere. Before I switched to Linux, Adobe was in the process of making the individual packages into "suites" called the CV studio series. That is: Photoshop, Flash, all of that has a connectivity and interchangeability as PhotoshopCV, etc.
Adobe Premiere was the best video editor I have ever used. If nothing else, Premiere offers the best sound mixing.

Adobe Premiere is just as good if not better than FCpro. Total Training has good training dvds for all Adobe products.
I have the software and training DVDs so contact me on naimalwan@hotmail.com in you want them.
good luck with your editing.

possibly the adobe suite bundle which include photoshop as well as several other Image, video and sound editing programs, but it does carry a hefty price tag at well over $400 i believe. I just bought photoshop cs4 (on mac) and am very pleased i imagine its nearly the same on xp/vista.
