Re-invent bunk beds...2 boys...DESPERATELY NEED HELP!!!?

Our 2 boys(6&9) share a room and have a sturdy set of wooden bunkbeds. I am going to finally decorate thier room and I need ideas for thier bed. I just watched a deocrating show that used tounge and groove paneling to make the bottom bunk a play house. I LOVE that,...and so did the boys. We however need to utilize both bunks after it's decorated.

I am on a very strict budget and can't spend more than a couple hundred dollars for the whole room. We plan to paint, new curtains, organize,....but I need something that makes them say "WOW."

Pleeeeeaaaaaassssseeeee! I am not creative at all! I need help! Thank you sooooo very much for your ideas!

Update:

I looked online before I asked here, and used atleast a half dozen ways of wrding it, and all I could find were sights wanted to sell me beds. I could not find anything! Maybe I still did not word it right...

*bunk bed ideas

*reinvent bunk beds

*redcorated binkbeds

*change existing bunk beds

*enhance bunk beds

(just to name a few ways I worded it)

I will be making no sew curtains out of sheets or something cheap like that!

Update 2:

hmm...they love all things boy. The comforters I recently baought to go with the change have spuerman on one, and musle cars on the other.

Hope that helps!

Look online for buidling ideas. See if there is a way to build on to the bottom bunk.

I think you will be cutting it close if you only want to spend a couple of hundred dollars on doing over a room unless you are really inventive. Curtains and paint could cost you that alone.

Research online ways to be creative that is cheap. You might use bandanas for curtains, sew your own linens, etc.

    Good luck.

I just thought of something else - you could make an igloo out of milk jugs. This looks really cool and it is pretty sturdy. You should be able to find directions online. Maybe you could do a cool blue room to go with it....

hugs to aya nd stay calm.. now... get some sheets in boy colors ..usually blues!!lol. and use liquid starch and dip this into the starch..wring out excess and place material or sheet material on the wwalls... smooth out the wrinkles and let dry.. when this is dry it will look like papered walls.... next the bunkbeds..paint thema deep dark blue and some lighter trim... or paint them whatever color the boys like... at their ages they need the 2 beds so i dont see how you could make the bottom 1/2 a playhouse.. anyway...sheets are good as well for making curtains.. to match with the design on the walls and beds... also whatever they like..such as ffootball etc... find some material with that kinda print and cut out the desins an place on walls or desks etc.... wiht the same technique as above with the starch.. good thing is?? when you decide to redo their room again ..you just pull the material off the walls and desk whaerever it is and wipe away the starch residue..will not damage any wall surface

accesorizing is great and is what completes the room so pick things the boys like.. such as nascar.. football etc...

Do a buk bed with one on top and nothing under and another one next to it. Do the same thing that they did for the house exept do the to bunk beds in the same play room in the lower part. And if they want privacy then put up something to divide the space between both beds.

Curtains can be real cheap if you make them yourself and it is very easy you don't even have two sew. Use a sewing glue. Make sure your top hem is an open one meaning you make it big enough for the rod to go through. Also make sure you use enough so they bunch on the rod instead od being pulled tight in order to close. Good Luck

you can make it like a castle with styrofoam, or like a pirate ship. What movie do they love? Go with that theme. Do they like a jungle theme? Cowboys? Pick a theme and then I can give you ideas with ropes, sports, trees...
