The 60s Celtics

The 80s Lakers

The 80s Celtics

The late 80s Detroit

The 90s Bulls

The 94-95 Rockets

The early 2000s Lakers

I think the toughest task is to get everyone to agree on what a dynasty is in regards to sports.

Then get them to stick to that definition. They'll want to bend it all to pieces to fit their favorite team in and their unfavorite team(s) out.

I think your list is a little generous. And what about the Yankees (from 49 to 64 had14 AL pennants and 9 World Series Championships) What about the North Carolina women's soccer team (19 championships in 22 championships appearances)?

    It's difficult, isn't it?

The NBA has in basic terms had 5 authentic dynasties. the terrific group interior the NBA wins all of it each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. Baseball and soccer, no longer unavoidably. interior the MLB final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, the Cardinals won 80 3 video games, and won the international sequence. the terrific group became the Yankees, yet they lost interior the 1st around. interior the NFL, the terrific group became the Chargers, and that they lost interior the 2d around after a ordinary around bye. the only authentic Basketball dynasties have been: the 60s Celtics, the 50s Lakers, the 80s Lakers, and the 90s Bulls. The Spurs are no longer a dynasty. 4 in 9 years with none returned to returned isnt a dynasty. in certainty, i could call the 00-02 Lakers extra of a dynasty than the Spurs. there have been 15 known MLB dynasties considering 1906, with maximum of them being the Yankees. Its no longer undemanding to have a dynasty in any recreation, so this question is somewhat stupid. Thats like asking if its extra undemanding to swim from California to Hawaii or to swim from Japan to Hawaii: any way you place it, its going to be very difficult. Its no longer undemanding to have a dynasty in any recreation.

Oh boy, you are carzy, to be a dynasty you must dominate the league for a long period of time, so you can't say the Rocket or the Pistons are dynastys, The Celtics and LAker were dynastys during the 80' s and the Bulls were the dynasty during the 90's.

Old Yankees are a baseball dynasty

80's Steelers and Cowboys are football dynasties, not to mention the Montanna-era 49er's.

    I wouldn't consider the rockets a dynasty.

Even with all that it is much easier to have a basketball dynasty. For one, if you have 2 stars( like the 2000 lakers Kobe and Shaq) then you are a Championship contender.

If you have 2 stars in baseball, well you don't have much, and if you only have 2 stars in football pray to God that you are in a rebuilding stage. To answer your question, yes it's much easier to have a basketball dynasty than any other sport.

No. There were really only 3 dynasties in basketball. the celtics(both times you mentioned) and the lakers. The easiest sport to have a dynasty in might be baseball because of the yankees in the early 1900's

I agree with most the other answers. (Yankees, Steelers, Cowboys, ect withstanding) And remember modern times with FA how it is dynasties are harder to come by. But like it was said baketball teams are smaller and one person can have a much bigger impact (on both offense and D). So simply yes, out of the mainstream sports, it is the easiest.

The only dynasty in football is the Patriots....i'd check that if I were you...Cowboys? 49's? Steelers? But yes, basketball is the easiest, baseball is second because it doesn't have a salary cap.

Chinese Women's Volleyball Team had a five-peat out of a 12-player team. Ping-pong (table tennis), badminton, and tennis are some other sports that you can find Dynasty-like stories, but those could be affected by one-man "franchise player".

  • 1 decade ago

I think it is because if you keep one franchise player that is one-fifth of your team on the floor and one twelfth of the whole team. In baseball you got like 1/25th, Hockey 1/25th Football 1/53 Its basic math.

I can name 3 of those which aren't dynasties:

    94-95 rockets

    Early 2000 lakers

    Modern day spurs
